We love welcoming advanced sewers to our space! Open Studio and our Workshops are designed just for you! It’s a great way to connect with others and build on your sewing skills.

Open Studio is a self-guided studio session where you can use one of our machines or bring your own, work on projects, and connect with others in the studio! Our instructors will be around to observe and help if needed. However, 1:1 detailed instruction is not provided. If you are unsure about your skill level, our Adult Sewing Class is a great place to start, and will give you the tools you need to create freely in Open Studio! We require sewing machine knowledge for Open Studio to ensure a safe environment when using sewing machines and other equipment.
We provide up to 8 sewing machine spots, a table/work area, thread, needles, and other basic materials. Fabric isn’t included, but can be purchased at our Stitch Shop for an additional cost for any of your projects during Open Studio hours!

We have 8 sewing machine desk spaces, so most of our classes and workshops have 8 seats available to ensure that each student can enjoy their own creative space comfortably.
As of August 2025, we’ve started to limit most of our classes to 5 students.
Visit our calendar here to read more about available spots.

Most of your materials are provided for you in our classes and workshops.
If there is a particular fabric you would like to use for your projects, you are welcome to bring it! Buttons, thread, patterns, needles, or other materials you bring can be used on any of your projects as well.
We have limited projects and patterns to choose from, but we are slowly building our inventory. If you have a specific project you’d like to work on, please bring anything related to it (pattern, instructions, etc.)
In Open Studio, we recommend bringing any materials needed for your project. If you’d like to look through our fabric selections, you’re welcome to purchase them in the studio at our Stitch Shop.
If you have any questions regarding other items to bring to class, please email us at hello@stitchhousestudio.com. We are happy to answer any questions you have!

Yes, if you are familiar and comfortable with your machine and want to use it in one of our classes for your project.
If you aren’t familiar with your own machine yet and need some extra guidance, we recommend either using our machines until you’re more comfortable with yours at home, or booking a private session so one of our instructors can help you learn the mechanics of your machine.
If you bring your own machine, please bring all accessories and instructions with you
